Under Siege-- aka Choices - is set in a Boston-area abortion clinic where bomb scares and death threats are part of a counselor's job description. The play charts the maturation of an idealistic young counselor who learns from her colleagues how to use knowledge and empathy to help her patients cope with the pain of their unwanted or problematic pregnancies, and how to use comradeship and gallows humor to cope with stress of being under siege by pro-life fanatics who gather daily to scream "baby-killers!" at her and those she cares for.
